Trial Run

the tree the storm with a crash
throws in front of us is not to bar
our passage to our journeys end for good
but to ask us who we believe we are.

insisting always on our own way
it likes to stop us on our path
and make us get down in a foot of mud
wondering where to go without a guide.

yet it knows that obstruction is in vain,
we will not be forced off our final goal,
we have it hidden in us to attain;
even if it takes turning the world around.

so when tired of hopeless circling on one spot
we`ll lift our faces skyward,
and go after what heaven holds for us
