One step at a time

Till one day, within reach

We finally grasp our goals.

The dreams of yesterday

And the tears we cried, when like chaff before the wind

Our goals and and visions were scattered and blown away,

Are minor when compared to the prize that lies ahead

If we can, with patience, wait faithfully not fretting for

One step at a time, if we can go on

One day at a time, to reach out, to love, to heal,

To touch hearts that time have wounded,

With the love God has given us;

Till we can bring joy, to all that treasure life,

All that value love

Who would?

Posted: July 12, 2010 in Poetry

Who would have ever thought
That these withered vines
That hang so meanly down
Over the wooden fence
Could by some miracle produce flowers?

Who would have ever believed
That this deserted arid land
Of serpents, scorpions and thorns
Could, by some freak of nature,
Now be covered with lawns?

Who would have ever known
That this weakened love that rose
From the ruins and dust of past errors
Could burst forth into a lovely glow
That is now reflected by all mirrors?
